Learning to Love Cats

Some of you may have noticed this already, but I have a new story up on the Coming Soon page! And as it’s already October (good grief, September was short, lol), this one will be available next month! Yep, that’s right, it comes out in the middle of November. It will be released as part of one of Amber Allure’s Pax collections. If you’re not familiar with those, I love them. They are five shorter works, all by different authors, released at the same time and linked by theme. This theme is Heavy Petting, so it’s a great one for all the animal lovers out there!

The story I have coming is called Learning to Love Cats, and it poured out in the course of a little over two weeks. I’ve been suffering from that dreaded disease known as writer’s block, so it came out of nowhere. I haven’t had this much fun with a story in ages, and I think it shows in the writing. These guys are adorable, and I have to say, the story has quickly become one of my personal favorites. So I hope you enjoy it, too! I’ll post again when it’s released. In the meantime, be sure to check out the blurb for more information, and keep an eye on the blog, because I will be contributing to more Paxes in the future :).

Nyx’s Pixie is Coming

Nyx’s Pixie is in to the publisher 🙂 I finally worked out the kinks at the end of the book (at least I hope!), and submitted it. We’re currently looking at an end of January release date. I will update the website next week with more detailed information, including specific release dates. I’ll also be trying to get out the next newsletter – I rather think I’m late with that, but I wanted to have news to share before I sent it out.

Now it’s on to Chaos’ book!

Finished!

I bet you thought it was never going to happen :). But I am very happy to announce that I have finished the last scene in Nyx’s story! I haven’t updated final word counts, etc – I’ve been working on a couple of different devices, and I need to put everything into one file. Until then, I have no clue what the final count actually is, lol. Now it’s on to edits, which, with any luck, will only take a week or two.

Keep an eye on the blog, and I’ll hopefully have some more good news on this one for you soon!

Coming Out of Hiding

It’s been far too long since I posted, so I thought I’d better emerge from my cave and give everyone a quick update :). I’ve been a bad author lately. Last semester…sucked. Completely. It kept me so busy, that for the last couple of months I rarely had time to open up any of my story files, let alone work on them. Thankfully, it’s over, and I’m free and clear for the summer. I’m also down to one semester – well, one semester and a thesis. I feel like I’ve been working on this damn degree forever, but I’m finally on the final stretch. Then I can get back to writing more or less full time.

So, Nyx. I made it almost to the end before school bogged me down. Unfortunately, I’ve also gotten a little bit stuck, and it’s taking some time to work out certain sections. I’m not going to give an estimate, mostly because I’m always way off. I’m hopeful, though, that it won’t be too much longer. I’m going to try and spend the rest of this month pushing through, no matter how stubborn the characters are being, but I won’t make any guarantees. In the meantime, Chaos has been bouncing in my head (he has a lot of energy). I’ve even written some on Raven’s story, and more or less outlined all the books. So, while progress on Nyx has been slow, progress on the series as a whole isn’t going too badly.

I’ve also begun a few short stories to break up the stagnation that can come from working on one longer project for too long. Those are already promised to Amber Quill, and I will have at least one done before the end of the summer. I can’t slack on those, they have deadlines :). I’ll let you know more later. I likely won’t add those to the WIP section, primarily because they are short stories (under 15k words). It seems like with those, by the time I get around to updating word counts, they’re finished.

That’s about it, I think. As always, I love to hear from people, so if you have any questions about current and upcoming projects, feel free to give a shout :). There is also the newsletter, which I have been sending out roughly every quarter, and I try to include news and some exclusive material (like sneak peeks at upcoming stories), so if you don’t get it, please do sign up :). Just type your email into the box on the right hand side. I only use the info for the newsletter and the occasional special announcement (like new releases).

I hope everyone has had a terrific start to the summer, and I’ll be in touch soon!

A Good Idea is now available for early download on Totally Bound! Well, actually, it was available last Friday, but my laptop had a meltdown and I’ve been without a computer for nearly a week. Fun times. Anyway, you can find it here. I’ll send out an announcement when it hits general release.

Thank You!

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to all my readers and say a big, giant thank you! Cody is doing quite nicely so far, and that’s always thrilling to see :). So, thank you again, and I’ll be letting you know soon about book 2 in the series 🙂

How far is Cody willing to go to keep his dragon?

Kirit is lonely and he’s sick of coming home from the king’s assignments to a cold, empty cave. After searching for years for a mate, Kirit decides it’s time to try a new approach. Against the advice of all his friends, he heads for the human side of the world. There he finds Cody, and the man is everything he could ever want. It takes a little bit of persuasion, but he manages to talk Cody into coming back with him to Faerie.

Within a week of arriving, Cody is beginning to rethink his impulsive decision. He’s trekked across more terrain than he would care to remember, been summoned to meet a king, and flown on a dragon—not an experience he’s willing to repeat anytime soon. Kirit’s growly possessiveness is starting to wear on his nerves, and the unexpected hostility he encounters at the palace is almost enough to make him give up.

But Cody is stubborn. He may not be willing to admit it out loud, but Kirit has got under his skin. He may even, shockingly enough, love the big guy.

Now Cody has to decide what he’s willing to do to keep the man of his dreams.

Happy New Year!

Okay, I’m a few days late, but what else is new? lol. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year, and give a few quick updates. I sent out a new newsletter, for those who get it (and if you don’t, you can sign up at the right of the page). I’ve got a sneak peek of Cody’s Dragon in there, which is now up at Totally Bound. It will be available from their website on January 31st, and from all third-party vendors on February 28th (for those of you who wait for the Kindle version).  I’m hard at work on the rest of the series, and book two is almost finished. I’m having a lot of fun with this bunch, and I can’t wait to share them with you :).

2014 is off to a good start for me, and I hope it is for everyone else, too!
