How Time Does Fly

Good grief, how is it almost the end of summer already? I realized yesterday that we’re nearly to August. What the heck happened? I couldn’t believe it when I saw how long it had been since I put anything up. Clearly, I need to do better about that!

Unforunately, I don’t have that much new to report. I’m still plugging away at the same projects, although I can say that progres is being made! I’ve gotten a good bit done on re-editing Troy’s Surrender, my little cowboy novella that was published back in the day with Amber Quill. It was my second book, and I think I mentioned that I decided to give it a complete overhaul. I’ve added around 5,000 words so far, done a lot of editing, and plan to add even more content. I’m doing the same with Dragon Herder (it was going to be two short books, and I’m combining into one). I’m also thinking about doing a similar thing with The Brass Box, my very first published work, that was with the now-defunct Samhain Publishing.

All these rewrites knocked the schedule for the new stuff a little off-kilter. But I know what everyone wants to hear about is the next Dragon Treasure story. 🙂 I hit 40,000 words earlier this week, which puts me roughly two-thirds of the way done. I’ve also been doing quite a bit of editing along the way, so it’s going to hopefully be in pretty good shape by the time I hit “The End.” I’ve gotten some more characters nailed down, and I have a solid direction and storyline for the rest of the series — I’ve been getting some words in on both Raven and Seamus’ stories as I’ve gone. Yes, Seamus is definitely getting his own book. I debated about that, but it looks like there’s going to be more story to tell 🙂 A new character also appeared in Raven’s book, who may or may not get his own book, as well. We’ll see on that, he’s a mysterious one!

I hope you’ve all had a glorious summer!

Best Wishes to all,

*PS…I broke the writer’s block! The word counter on Chaos has finally started to move again!*

So this month has been ridiculous. I completely missed the release date of Right Place, Right Time. It’s my story for the AmberPax Reeling Through the Years collection, which came out over the weekend. This Pax is a series of stories on time travel, written by some great authors. My own contribution combines my love of history and the science fiction genres into what I think is a fun little story. Right now it’s only available here on the Amber Allure website, but it will be up at all the usual places within the next 2-3 weeks.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! I’ll try to get an update to you shortly, to let you know what I’ve been working on 🙂 In the meantime, here’s Right Place, Right Time:

And don’t forget to check out the other stories in the Pax!

Dragon Herder

So, you might have noticed, Dragon Herder came out yesterday 🙂 The release date kind of snuck up on me, but I’ll be getting the website updated with it this afternoon. In the meantime, be sure to check out my post over on the Pax blog. I’ve got a little background on the story, and don’t forget to comment to be entered to win copies of all the books in the collection!

Dragons of Another Kind

Hello all! I’ve been kind of out of touch, so I thought I’d pop in with a quick update. First of all, I completely forgot to post, but Nyx’s Pixie is now available at all the usual places. Links are on the appropriate page on my website. The paperback version is also out and can be purchased from Totally Bound or Amazon (I’ll have some of my own to put on the website eventually, but they haven’t arrived yet.)

Next up, if you check out the Coming Soon page, you will see I have another short story coming out with Amber Allure’s Pax line! And it’s right around the corner! It will be coming out on March 15th. It’s a fun, fantastical romp involving, what else, dragons! These are quite different than the ones in my Dragon’s Treasure series, and it was so much fun to write.

Speaking of Dragon’s Treasure, I wanted to let everyone know that yes, I am working on Chaos’ book right now. I’ve been bogged down with a few other deadlines, not to mention my thesis proposal, but I’m hoping to get back into it soon.

One last thing, and then I’ll shut up :). The Romance Reviews is having their anniversary party next month. If you’ve never participated, it’s a lot of fun, with some great giveaways. I have a copy of Cody’s Dragon up for grabs, although I’m not sure what day it will be. But be sure to check out all the other great prizes!

Okay, that’s the end of my rambling. Have a great rest of the week!

Nyx’s Pixie Now Out!

It’s here! Book Two in the Dragon’s Treasure series is now available at Totally Bound :). You can download it here. I’ll stick the blurb down below, and be sure to check out the excerpt here. This is early download, so right now the book is only up on Totally Bound’s website. It will be available from all the usual places and in print on February 13th.

Nyx has found a possible mate, but he’s pretty certain Fate made a mistake. Not only is his mate working in a brothel, which is playing merry hell with Nyx’s possessive side, he’s also a Pixie. Pol is small and delicate, and Nyx is certain he would break the poor man within a week. Nyx will just wait until the next candidate comes around. The fact that this is the first potential mate he’s come across in several hundred years is, of course, beside the point. Unfortunately, no matter how hard Nyx tries, he can’t keep away. When he finds himself on the verge of turning into a stalker, Nyx gives in to the inevitable and goes traipsing off to claim his Pixie.

When Nyx comes sweeping into Pol’s life, he’s thrilled to accept the dragon as his mate. No one would call Nyx charming, yet he still manages to sweep Pol off his feet—quite literally, at times. Once the first flush of lust wears off, though, Pol begins to worry that he’s made a mistake. The problem isn’t Nyx. Pol is well on his way to loving the reserved dragon. But Pol is harboring a dangerous secret. A secret with the potential to upset the balance of power in Faerie…

Happy Holidays!

Winter Ornament Scene

I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and best wishes for the end of the year! I will see you all in 2015 with fun news and new releases!

Heavy Petting 2

Heavy Petting 2 is now available on the Amber Allure website! My title, Learning to Love Cats, can be found here. And be sure you take a look at the other titles in the collection. There’s a special price if you get all the books, plus the new release discount, so it’s a great deal on some great stories! The full collection can be found here.

Also, if you don’t already follow it, there is a special blog for the Pax authors. During release week, you can find posts from each author in the collection with behind-the-scenes peeks, backgrounds on the stories, and some additional excerpts. I’ll be posting later this week. So, come check out!

Learning to Love Cats

Some of you may have noticed this already, but I have a new story up on the Coming Soon page! And as it’s already October (good grief, September was short, lol), this one will be available next month! Yep, that’s right, it comes out in the middle of November. It will be released as part of one of Amber Allure’s Pax collections. If you’re not familiar with those, I love them. They are five shorter works, all by different authors, released at the same time and linked by theme. This theme is Heavy Petting, so it’s a great one for all the animal lovers out there!

The story I have coming is called Learning to Love Cats, and it poured out in the course of a little over two weeks. I’ve been suffering from that dreaded disease known as writer’s block, so it came out of nowhere. I haven’t had this much fun with a story in ages, and I think it shows in the writing. These guys are adorable, and I have to say, the story has quickly become one of my personal favorites. So I hope you enjoy it, too! I’ll post again when it’s released. In the meantime, be sure to check out the blurb for more information, and keep an eye on the blog, because I will be contributing to more Paxes in the future :).
